Hi, Went to view a GLC 250d 2017 67 plate today. When the seller was driving there was a very obvious clunking noise when braking. It was always noticeable even with him gently braking. When questioned his reply was this is how its always been and was the same on his c class. To me something doesn't seem right. I checked the brake pads and discs. Rear pads were changed in 2019 and have plenty of life. The front pads were weird, picture attached. I resisted from purchasing the car as I didn't want to risk with that clunking noise without investigating the cause. Has anyone else experienced with their GLC?

TIA

Worn out Bush or link rod,?
Anyway if seller not interested in finding out u did best thing, walked.
Yup pad looks odd. Maybe a new scheme to have ur pads wear out earlier, wud not do for me. Disc is certain area. No point in having pads only acting on half avail, and all of it when 2 min from fd.

You did the right thing it may be something simple like a drop link on the suspension and then again it might be something expensive without investigation who knows
