Further Glove box issues!

Hi this message is FAO Television

Would you mind sending me the instructions for repairing the glove compartment that you (very helpfully!) passed on to the other users on this forum please?

My car is a 2006 CLK200 Avantgarde

Email address is stuart_costin@yahoo.com

Thanks very much

Stuart

Television - please send me instructions

Hi Television,
I have a CLK350 (2008). The latch on the glove box door appears to be broken and the door will not stay closed (it will not latch).
I took off the handle on the door with the 4 screws inside the door and that did not give me any access to the latching mechanics? I am now assuming that I must buy a new door???? is that correct?? is there a way to fix this part without buying a new door? Please let me know.... and If I do need to buy a new door, then can you send me instructions on how to replace the door... I cant seem to find the screws for removing the door anywhere.
THANK YOU!

If the latch catch is broken, then a new door, one can adjust the part in the box at the top, there are 2 screws so that this latch can be adjusted

details sent

catch appears broken

Television - Thank you for the details. If I understand your reply in this thread... you are saying that if that latch catch is broken..... like mine is.....
then I will need a completely new door?
I do not understand the "adjustment" that you mentioned? I do not see screws anywhere for any adjustment even in the diagrams you sent?
Thanks again!

The top catch is adjustable in the box for fore and aft a little, the one on the door cannot be replaced and a new door required.

I couldn't access the screws on mine so I made a shim from some black Velcro micro dots (12mm) and pushed the captive latch forward with it. worked a treat and its colour matched too.
