glow plug light

Hello
have my ml270 a week i was just wondering if it was normal for the glow plug light to stay on for around 30 secs sfter staring the engine cheers

no. the light is telling you that you have a a glow fault. (prob a plug out)

Could be the glow plug relay which I would guess is the fault because the lights coming back on once the engines running. Its under the bonnet somewhere but cant remember the part number off hand starts 545.

Dig around the forum this has been covered many times before, I think you will find at least one plug has died.

Take care not to snap it off whilst removing it.

I had this on my W210. It was definitely a glow plug breaking down. Specialist advised me to replace all 6 plugs given the fact that he had to remove the manifold anyway to get to the duff one.

Not on a CDI engine you don't.

It may be an idea to do all 5 whilst you have the cover off, and your tools out, but the manifold stays in place on the CDI engine, you did have to take the manifold off on the older 250/ 300 TD engines.
