These skinny plugs disintegrate easily. Squirt some plusgas into the hole over a few days and run to temp.
Be sure to use the correct, and light, torque when re installing.

I've seen 4.4v and 7v printed on these, if that refers to the operating voltage you need be sure to order the correct replacements.

On my Viano there are a choice of 3 type of controller, it could be they supply at different voltage to match the plugs that are in. That could explain why we've read of so many blown controllers here, if the wrong plugs were put in at replacment.

As above follow the advice and read the many posts on here before fitting decent replacements preferably with some anti-seize its a job that can go easily or be a real pain.

There are some really nasty ones made of chinese* snappium, bendium and corrodium they are not worth the alleged saving.

*Other countries make junk as well.

Yes your right, they are after all usually the failed corroded in thing that needs replacing.

Not that Mercedes know anything about corrosion that's just a malicious rumour.

the control module is often sold on ebay as a kit with new glow plugs - its fails about as often as the plugs and has often has its software updated to makes use of improvements / suit later plug development

on modern tractors they go on and off all the time its not just for start up - that changed from around 2005

Beru is OEM
