Glowplugs 1998 E300TD

I need to replace the glowplugs on my 1998 E300TD and would like some advice on the removal and replacement of the manifold which covers them.
- is it just a case of removing the bolts at the top where it is attached to the head?
- what is the torque setting for these bolts when I replace the manifold?
- will I need to replace the gasket?

Before you start be aware that on this engine the glowplugs have a tendency to snap when being removed

Make sure the engine is warm when you do the job.

There is a 5mm allen bolt to undo at the manifold where the boost pipe joins it; acessable from underneath.

A new gasket is advisable.

then just undo the manifold bolts and the egr pipe.

While you have the bttom cover off the engine bay examine your front sub frame for corrosion, mine was shot.
If the corrosion is not too bad I would recommend that you take the opportunity to waxoyl it or use something similar for future protection.
