Hello guys, I am new in that forum and I would like to apologize, if I don't ask something properly.
I have an old Mercedes C220 CDI estate 2002 year.
Today I noticed that when I started the engine up the glow plugs light remained on for probably a minute and then it went off. As far as I am concerned and all the materials I read about that matter I came to the conclusion that it is either a glow plug fault or a few glow plugs fault or the relay itself.
Would you support that presumption ? And my second question is how long I might be able to drive like this without any problem? What do you think? I definitely need the car the next 3 days to go to work and come back and I will be absolutely unable to take it to any specialist to replace and change the plugs.
Thanks for your comments :)

You may drive it no problem. These lumps are very good to start at your climate even without couple of plugs. BUT if you want change faulty plug and avoid snapping of plug tip, replace it within few days.

I will need to start it another 10 times before I will be able to have them changed, cause I need the car for work and I cannot take a day off, will that cause a problem with removing it?
Thanks

sometimes old plug may be already stuck when they fail, you never know... and when you need car that is it, you will replace them when you can. But I think a good specialist may have few days queue anyway... because they must reserve labor time for worst case scenario where plug snaps.

Where are you, in UK or somewhere cold north? Your name just points a bit colder climate than UK... lol we had -21C this morning, I was amazed air matic of my W220 was still holding lol

Worth before you go to change the plugs to take your car to get the engine nice and hot, also put some penetrating oil in the holes for 30 minutes before that and you shouldn't have an issue with them coming out, just give it time when you try to undo them will save you in the long run

I was quted 120£ for the plugs and the labour, that might be a good price, what do you think?

Mine started to do this over a year ago but starts well coldest last week at -5 but still good so I have decided not to bother changing glow plugs.

Not bad. 4 Genuine Beru plugs are under £40.
If they have any removal 'problems', no doubt you'll be paying the extra labour. DIY-ers take their time on this job, maybe with a better outcome.
