Good indie in Bedfordshire

Hello guys, can someone please recommend a good independent in or near Bedford? My local garage turned out to not be able to diagnose a persistent transmission problem.

Millennium Mercedes are ok for simple jobs but give the guy something a little difficult to deal with and it’s a big no. Wasted time booking my W222 S350d to look at a steering wine, even after Richard had told me to bring the car in. I eventually got a slot to take the car in and I showed Richard a little video of the noice and he didn’t want to know. Will not be returning there. Rather pay a main stealer and know my car is being looked after with a guarantee the work is covered my technicians who are more recently trained.

6 years on, I have settled on Welwyn Merx in (unsurprisingly) Welwyn.

What a stupid reply! The thread is still valid. I researched independent Mercedes garages in Bedford and wanted to give my opinion on Millenium. You don’t have to like what I say, it’s just the experience I have had with them.

If they purport to be a merc indy and blindly turn people away because they appear not bothered its somewhat indicative of thier
customer focus and capability (or lack of).
Many garages like this exist and some are not even good for an oil change.
I think its justified to post a bad experince of a garage - how else do we determine recommended or not.
would be interesting to know others experiences with Millenium.
Just the name Millenium sounds cheesy and would put me off. ha ha

They have 8 google reviews all postive btw.

If someone can’t come on this forum to give a viewpoint then what’s the point of this forum? Maybe we should just call it an advertisement board and never say anything truthful about the service or experiences we have had with an establishment. Blobcat if you are associated with Millennium, I suggest you stop wasting your time defending yourself on here and sort out the garage you pro-port to be a specialist Mercedes indi.

You are a new and unknown member, your first post is a criticism of a small independent business. Most new members post in our introduction section where they are greeted with a “Hello and welcome”, you chose not to do that but I still welcomed you to the forum.
I questioned your motivation for posting and you came back with “what a stupid reply!” if that’s your attitude whenever you’re questioned then I’m not in the least surprised that the garage weren’t interested in dealing with you.

We don’t know the other side to your story but there will be one. A quick google shows only positive reviews of Millennium Mercedes. It’s difficult enough for small businesses without people posting bad reviews based on a conversation.

What one mans bad experience can be is another mans good experience.
I had two of the same jobs done too each of my cars at two different garages at different times, (within 8 months of each other) one charged me £1000, the other garage charged me around £400, okay the grand cost was a bit on the nose so took it on the chin and found another garage for my work. I didn't give any poor feed back because this was my own experience and I am not 100% the work carried was exactly the same, though according to the invoice the same.
In your case AOliver.Swann once you showed the video to the chap he could have said we'll do it, not fixed the problem, fobbed you with and given you a £1000 bill.
Like that 'rude' Blobcat person I am not associated with this garage either..........
