Good MB independent near Shepton Mallet?

I am going to take my CLK in to somewhere to get this stalling problem sorted, and before I take it all the way to Star Tech in Poole, I wanted to know if anyone knew any really good MB independent specialists nearer where I live in Shepton Mallet? Nearby towns are Wells, Frome, Radstock.

Conerstone near ilminster will be the closest. I think that the quote from MBS was for a new torque converter and rad, as the torque converter could be the reason for the stalling

Thanks, actually I did check exactly what that was for and he said just the radiator and flushing out the system. Didnt mention the torque converter at all, which was odd since we had just been talking about it etc...

I spoke to Star Tech and they were saying how they deal with the Valeo radiator problems and mentioned about stripping and rebuilding the gearbox too, which was a surprise as I didnt think that was necessary. However, the guy seemed to be really clued up about it all and the call gave me confidence that they were probably a good choice.

He also mentioned that the 270 CDI may have that thing after the radiator (oil cooler?) which means its not a problem anyway. Is there any easy way to check this?

If this was a valeo leak,,then the gearbox never has to get rebuilt, it does not affect the box, and the box could not cause your stalling fault anyway,, the torque converter can though,, so I do not think much about Star Tech

I feel that you need to get the car on STAR and have the torque converter clutches re adapted.
Some cars do have a different cooling system
