Got the ULEZ letter today from MoT

Letter arrived warning me that my E350 CDi is not ULEZ compliant and that they were increasing the restricted zone to the NCR and SCR in London...

Ducking crazy....

My efficient VW Golf - that has almost zero emissions is non-compliant
My efficient Mercedes - that is also extremely economical for what it is is non-compliant

But...

My big engined diesel X5 and planet destroying M5 are fully compliant and are welcome to drive around London without charge or penalty.....

It's all down to NOx and particulate emissions.
Diesels are notoriously high.
It's no different to when petrol cars were penalised for CO2.

if we stop being me, me, me, no diesel engine'd car should be allowed to be started ever again.

we knew more than 20 years ago diesels are just deadly filth, FYI my 5.5ltr petrol is clean enough, that should be a big enough clue to know which are safe and which aren't !

I was actually saying last night - if we can all grow up a bit, its time to realise across the whole world ALL cars need to be parked up and never ever driven again... the planet is dying and we must make massive, sudden and significant changes or most under 10s will not make 30 !

so all we do is move to E10

I was actually saying last night - if we can all grow up a bit, its time to realise across the whole world ALL cars need to be parked up and never ever driven again... the planet is dying and we must make massive, sudden and significant changes or most under 10s will not make 30 !

so all we do is move to E10

Park all vehicles up - that would be great for the planet...no food being transported, no way of getting to the supermarket to buy food, no way to get to work and earn money, no means of getting kids to school since there is no public transport going that way...

How many people take a car to the supermarket when they could walk? (I know we do).
How many kids are driven to school when they could cycle?
How many travel to an office when they could work from home? (we don't go to an office unless told to).

I know not everyone can do these things without a car but a great many could.

If you live rural or semi rural you need a car, simple, we use a car for all journeys.

Same as as when in France, but when in the UK we could walk but we take the car.

Perhaps using delivery services is more eco-friendly.

My SL500 V8 4.7L is ULEZ compliant so it looks like the more uneconomical your car the "greener" it is according to the Civil Servants who make up these rules...

So when I now do drive into London, I will leave the economical Blue Motion Golf and Blue Efficiency Mercedes at home and take my Noise and Air polluting gas guzzling M5 into the city...I would rather spend the extra money in fuel in the M5 than give it in a daily ULEZ charge to Khan and his cronies....

starting ANY diesel engine ever, means you are puking out death, cancer and heart disease - and there is nothing you can do to stop it, other than to turn it off
driving a gas guzzling v8 petrol mostly hoovers up the death coming out of these tractors
so yes of course an M5 is way better than a VW golf tractor

but then we need grow up and realise in the last 200 years humans have wasted so much resource which could have given us 5000 safe happy years, and so we now need to park the M5 too and get a bicycle with a solar battery and just do stuff differently
