I can remember the famous adult model Fiona Richmond having two cars, one with WOM 8 and the other with PEN 15 as the number plates.
She would often get stopped by the police.
And this was back in the early 1970's.

I'm sure I saw a PEN 1 S recently, and it was on a Smart, all stickered up for a car reg trader. Cant remember where though.

fionas bright red Etype had the FU 2 on it, old enough to have seen it in the kings road! steve parish had pen15 and they took him to court but as he had not mucked with it he got off!.Mike

PEN 1 5 used to belong to Steve Parish 20 odd yrs ago ,Thats the Steve Parish that used to race for Suzuki with Barry Sheen then raced trucks now commentates on moto gp, I was working in his house a cpl of months ago he still has a set of plates in that number in his hall along side a letter from St james palace from when he got fined for having them on his black merc yrs ago

PEN 15 is for sale at a reg plate firm in dunstable i bet its worth a fortune

PEN came from Barrow in Furness and I don't think PEN 1S (as opposed to 5), dated with the rest of the series in 1978 was ever issued. Withheld by DVLA for obvious reasons. PEN 15 would have been a good few years earlier, 1950's I would think, when drivers were all straight forward and didn't monkey about a lot with their plates.
