I have looked, honest I have! My SL350 has 18" AMG wheels with the following tyre sizes:

Front: 255/40 R18
Rear: 285/35 R18

Can someone please tell me the best tyre pressures I should be using (seen the comments regarding UK roads and low profiles!)

Thanking you in anticipation.

True, but does this recognise the non-standard wheels?

the wheels will be option sizes for your car and standard on another model in the range. if the tyre size isnt listed on the back of the fuel flap, it will list them in the owners manual. however from memory, i dont think they vary that much on mercs. i could be wrong though. my memory is dreadful!

In my experience, go for a setting rougly in the middle of the values on the cap. Then monitor tyre wear and adjust up and down until it's even (more middle wear, reduce etc). Factor in ride comfort and handling and you'll come to your ideal settings..

The pressures for 18" wheels are the same as for the 17" that came with the car
