- Vito 109cdi 2005 2.1 long
Vito van started up fine and I drove away but when I tried to open electric windows they didn't open. Then realised there were no lights on the dash, all gauges at zero, speedo, revs, fuel gauge, also no indicators, no headlights, no horn. no wipers, no washer jets. Must be a main fuse I thought. BUT... Radio, interior cab lights, hazard lights, brake lights, central locking, ignition/ starter, 12 volt cigarette lighter all worked fine though. Obviously I can't drive with no indicators wipers and horn etc. so now it is parked up waiting for a fix.
Annoyingly, the owners manual fuse diagram looks a fare bit different from what I found under the bonnet so not easy to work out what each fuse is for.
Anyway I checked what I thought was the main fuse and several of the other fuses with higher amp ratings but couldn't find a blown one. The fuse I think is the main fuse is attached to the metal pipe type of battery terminal in the fuse box that I use for jump starting.
I just went out to take a photo of my Fuse box for this post and found everything working !
OK, the panic is over but the puzzle (and slight anxiety that it might happen again) is still here. Any suggestions?
