I recently got a C-Class Sports Coupe (facelift 2004) with Audio 20 stereo and didn't get pre-wiring for a phonekit as my company has a deal with Vodafone.
Went to get the Radio security code which I was told by MB customer service should be supplied with the owner manual etc and it wasn't there.
Spoke to MB customer service, faxed over my ownership details, reg. chasis etc so they could give me the details - they have no record and told me to speak to local dealership - they have no details and have told me I can book it in for 2 weeks time and will charge me for the privelige!
What no one can tell me is whether a) there is no security, and in which case can I go ahead and get a phonekit fitted which will mute the stereo, or b) whether there is a code and they just don't know what it is.
Has anyone had similar experience/know the answer, my ideal scenario is that there is no code (or it is not activated) and I can get the kit fitted.
Advice would be appreciated.
