Bl00dy hell, you got a B service and MOT for that?? I'm taking my car there, don't care how far it isWifey took the newly repaired C class for an MOT and B service this morning, just phoned me passed the MOT with no advisory’s, total bill £170, very happy with that.
Take off the MOT and that's £130.That’s extremely reasonable for a ‘B’ service & mot.
Now the wife has phoned me again. The engine light came on on her way to work this morning. The garage told her the EGT sensor is faulty but they can’t deal with that one, great, now I have to try and get that sorted before next weekend as we are away for the week, I bleedin hate cars.
The garage had the vehicle for the MOT and service. How have they been able to diagnose without seeing the vehicle?
Take off the MOT and that's £130.
I’m not going back to complain .I have no idea how they would do a B Service for that!!!!!!, generally needs oil and filter, brake fluid, filters etc, parts alone are more than that
I’m not going back to complain .
Can anyone tell me if it’s safe to drive the car before it enters Mercare next Wednesday to renew the the faulty EGT sensor?
If brake fluid was done it would have been even more!I have no idea how they would do a B Service for that!!!!!!, generally needs oil and filter, brake fluid, filters etc, parts alone are more than that
They are all extras to any B1 and B2 service unfortunately.Every 2 years for brake fluid, gearbox oil and filter every 4 years
The sensor is there to warn you on any overheating issues caused elsewhere e.g. turbos etc, so unless you were very unlucky between now and Wednesday it will be ok to use. I guess it may drop into limp mode at an extreme but not sure on that
Ouch indeed! Hope it’s all ok nowIt did drop into limp mode yesterday, had the new EGT sensor fitted today £325 ouch. I left the Smart with them as I picked up the Mercedes, hope the bill is a smaller one tomorrow.
