hard to start

Hi forum.........have w202 c180 estate.118,000miles
Been serviced 6 months ago but recently when cold the engine turns over longer than before...have changed plugs but still the same.when hot she is fine, but just happens when cold.turns over for around 7 to 9 seconds where before she fired up at 3 to 4 seconds.
Have ordered haynes book but has anyone any ideas.....................

Check out the cold start valve as it might be a fuse blown on the relay

Have Just Looked In Fuse Box And All Seems Ok But Just Pushed The Fuses Back Into Holders And For Some Reason The Car Starts On Touch Of The Key Now.......havent Replaced Nor Touched Anything Else............why This?

Dont ask too many questions! Hopefully you accidently found the solution but I would'nt bet on it just yet. The cold start valve lives under the air filter box and is found between injectors 2 and 3. Its got its own fuel line and sits vertically above the cylinder head.

Cant find cold vave and haynes book says nothing abt it apart frm purge vavle and idle sensors..........is there such a valve?

This is from a diff engine but it shows what to look for near the fuel distributor, simply run your finger along each fuel line and you'll see how one line goes to an injector which stands vertical with an electric connector at its
top.
