Have I got a Garmin satnav in my 2017 C200 ? I want to update it to the latest offering. Also where is the best place to get the update ?

By 'offering', do you mean to replace the unit? Or just update the maps?

I have never done it, so I might be wrong, but it seems a reasonable starting point.

Ooops. Sorry. I misunderstood your question.

I believe NTG 5.5 (Command) is Garmin Map Pilot. Earlier versions with Audio 2 I think are something else, but not sure what. Sorry.

If you have the full set of documents for the car there could be something in there that gives a clue, sometimes it can be the legal bumpf (radio license?) about the communications system the sat nav uses, it might give you a clue. My previous car had a "Navtec" one, that just specified the type of communication device it was. Lots of devices that use telcommunications/radiowaves come with similar.

Andy, your C Class will be NTG5*2 (Like my GLC). Comand is Comand - Audio 20 has the Garmin Map Pilot system. Previously it was Becker Map Pilot but almost 100% certain that 2017 will be Garmin, I thought you just downloaded up to date maps yourself but don’t know because I have a Comand and that has to be done by the desler.

I am hoping that is correct Steve, I have just ordered the 2022 update about half an hour ago. The only thing is where on earth is the SD card slot, i don't recall seeing a card slot on the dash and it's too dark out there now

My W213 had a slot for the card in the centre armrest. It’s pretty well hidden low down at the front of the cubbyhole
