It is wieird though, sometimes it will work fine, other time it just clicks.

Interestingly if I piggyback a 2nd battery on to the existing via jump leads, the problem goes away for a whlile. It's not a 900ah so cant start or run the car off it but I might take the existing one out and see if the esl works better on just this 2nd one.

I asked about battery condition earlier as this is important, Ive seen many of these ESL problems on
Land Rover Jags Mercs and solved them fitting the correct AGM battery and testing the charging system and vehicle for battery drain.

Aye. Wish I had a proper battery to swap it out with.

That said, even with 2nd battery and charger hooked up it still happens.

As its an early w204 I don't need a stop start agm battery but would it be worth it anyway,are they just bettet
