I have a 2005 e class estate 2.7cdi
I have just spent a fortune replacing an alternator both rear suspension air bags
2 years ago an ABS unit
Now this, talk about a money pit
I have just had my headlamp washers come on for no reason, I was indoors.
I was unable to turn them off,
I disconnected the battery to stop them.
When I reconnected the battery they came on again.
Anyone got any ideas please.?

My first thought would be has anything been disturbed/damaged when the alternator was replaced. Also, was the compressor changed? That lives in the left-hand side of the front bumper.

I wonder if Money Pit and @kebekid007 was following each other on the assembly line?
Possibly a relay has got hot inside and shorted out, water ingress in an electrical plug, or a short in the wires.
I do sympathise with you......:(
