I have the data card for my car and it mentions Headlight Assist, option 011.

I don't think this works, is there any way to test it or perhaps it's been turned off?

I raised the same question about mine. i assumed wrongly that it meant the headlights would "self dip" when oncoming traffic was detected etc. But i think what it really means is something else. exactly what i do not know:confused:.

I think the fog lights come on whilst cornering? But mine don't.

Headlamp assist simply means your lights come on in low light conditions...

Would that be only if the lights are on the auto setting?.

Its very confusing for those that dont know. In the handbook it refers to "automatic headlamp mode" (not headlight assist), and yet in the vin decode it refers to it as headlamp assist.
Automatic headlamp mode being just a light sensor arrangement that turns your lights on in low lighting and true headlamp assist is something quite different ie automatic headlight dipping when there is oncoming traffic/ a foglight cornerring function. Very confusing:confused:.

One thing one can't accuse the Germans of and that's being consistent! There are sooo many examples of confusing, sometimes downright misleading, terminology especially between WIS and EPC/datacards..
