GLC AMG43. Dec 2017 model
Hi,
New here so hope this post is in the right place.
I have a Dec 2017 AMG 43 GLC. It has LED lighting and all four of the projector type (I think) headlights are on when the lights are dipped.
We are spending next Jan through March in Southern France and need to fit anti dazzle headlight “Filters”. All the information I have unearthed states that these filters must be fitted to the dip beam light.
So....my dilemma is “Do I fit filters to all four headlight bulbs and if not, to which ones”, remembering that all four are illuminated in dip mode.
Any constructive thoughts or advice would be most helpful. Why is nothing ever simple

Hello & Welcome, what does your car manual say?

If you're talking about the stick on headlight beam deflectors then they won't be relevant to your LED's. With the bi-xenon lights there is a switch on the inside of the units. I never took my LED's over the water so didn't check the manual but it should be listed in the manual.

If you have ILS (as I suspect you do) you need do nothing.
There should be info in your manual.

It really is simple :geek:

I do wish a mod would make my post on online owners manuals a sticky, saves me scrolling through different ones each time :rolleyes::geek:

For the hard of clicking links, the text reads:

Setting the dipped-beam headlamps for driving on the left/right

This function is available only in vehicles with the Intelligent Light System.
You can use this function to switch between symmetrical and asymmetrical dipped beam more.

  • If you change the setting, conversion does not take place until the next time the vehicle is stationary.
If you set the dipped-beam headlamps for driving on the right/left, then motorway mode and the extended range foglamps are unavailable. These are deactivated only if the setting for driving on the left/right is set opposite to your vehicle's country version.
A qualified specialist workshop can set the dipped-beam headlamps for driving on the left/right.

Hi Mercator, it sounds like you've got intelligent headlights, this means you can adjust the beam pattern via the headlight settings menu. Therefore you won't need to stick anything onto the headlights themselves.

Check your handbook for "adjusting headlight beams" or "Continental driving" or something similar.

It is so easy to do, that you do not even need to RTFM......quite intuitive :)
