Headlights and other things 230SLK

Not sure if this is the right place for this but here goes.

I have a '99 230SLK with one misted up headlight. Is this 'normal' and what can I do to fix it?

Also there's a service indicator and buzzer comes on every time I start the car and it's annoying. I refuse to pay MB's extortionate prices for servicing, I prefer to have a friendly garage deal with it, after all he's looked after all my cars for the past 9 years without complaint. Can this indicator be easily removed?


I have probably a million and one other questions but these will do for now.

The glass comes off some lamps, it depends on the model and year, you can have the buzzer turned off on a STAR test set

You can re set your service indicator as shown in your handbook or have it re set on STAR,, that is a MB diagnostic tester

Just reset the service indicater and the beep will stop.There are plenty posts on here giving the procedure.

Turn ignition to position 2 and immediately press reset knob twice within 1sec.
Within 10sec turn ignition to position 0.
Press and hold reset knob whilst turning ignition to position 2 again.
Keep pressing knob until you hear a tone.
Release knob, job done!
