Just exactly where you'd expect to find it ....
They remove the entire manifold to get to it .I found you could come up from below to remove it. Two bolts are done entirely by feel but it's easy enough.

Oh I don't know....
I once changed the throttle control module on a Volvo in their carpark because their charges were too high and it needed coding before it could be driven...
They wanted 2 1/2 hours to change it (+coding on top) - it took me 20 minutes...
I went to buy a clutch cable for a Golf GTI 16V or Audi GT Coupe from VW Audi. Got back in the car & the clutch cable snapped. Asked if I could use a ramp? No chance they said. So half an hour later I managed to replace it on their car park. Gave them a big smile.

This brings back memories from many many years ago, on a geology field trip at Uni I took my A30 to South Wales and ended up having to replace seals in the brake master cylinder, under the car on the gravel parking area of a pub, did my back no end of harm. Brakes on the A30 were always rather iffy (and it jumped out of 2nd when you tried to use engine braking if you didn't keep the gear stick firmly held in position!!), and a few days later headed home, long downhill to traffic lights, thankfully right at the lights on the left was a cafe with a steep uphill car park. Without that I'd have rammed into the 2 cars waiting at the lights instead of being able to sweve away into the car park and get the car stopped. How my passenger did not need a change of skiddies is beyond me!

I once fitted a timing belt on a MK4 cortina in a car park when the old belt snapped when I started her up. Fortunately no damage & off I went. In those days you could leave the bonnet up with a note on the windscreen and not get clamped or towed away. ( Builders bum sticking out the front of the car probably helped)

It was in the days when I always carried my Haynes manual and my tools, as I never knew if my old bangers would make it home.

Old habits die hard... I still carry tools in my cars and a diagnostic kit as well (especially for the R230...)

Once bitten... i also carry two bottles of still water in the front seat bins, plus a few Mars bars. Memories of being stuck on the A66 for 7 hours one day run long & deep.
