Hi everyone

Been a while since I’ve been on here.

Ok was wondering if any one could help.

I have a 2000 model E320 petrol w210

It’s been fine as I don’t use it often.
Ok so I went to take it for an mot this morning had to jump start her as the battery was dead. All good started up ok. Drove it in to the mot station no problems. As it was having its mot there was smoke/steam comming out of the drivers side window as it was open. When we opened the drivers door there was actually steam and water comming out of the heater vents inside the car. Also the coolant level indicator had come up on the display and a big puddle of coolant on the floor.

Any ideas please guys. Am I right in thinking it’s the heater matrix.

Thank Nav

Yes a good chance you'e right.
Does the interior smell of coolant ? If so I think your diagnosis is pretty much spot on.

As today was a nice sunny day I thought it would be a good day to take the dashboard out and see were this matrix or heater core was leaking. So I started at 10am few cups of tea and some lunch I have finally got it all apart. Yes my diagnosis was right a spilt in the aluminium pipe
