heater / vents control illumination

anyone know how you replace the bulb on the thumb wheel in the central vent unit on a w124 coupe?? thanks.

if you don't have a passenger-side airbag, it's easy... if you do, it's a pain in the bum.
If no airbag, there's a side screw accessed through the glovebox and then an allen screw accesed through the vent. Then I think there's 2 clips that need to be released just inside the vents and it then the assembly slides out. Bulb is behind plastic flap.

Same for airbag models, except the airbag has to come out to get to the screw!

afraid I do have a side airbag.......maybe I'll just put up with the blown bulb!!
