Hello all

I've just bought a C220 CDI EST and no matter what settings I use on the heater controls I have Hot air blowing on the drivers side.Air con makes no difference.
Has anyone any ideas what it could be?

Hi

If you have the old style c class (202) sounds like you need a new duo valve sits between the fuse box and the front strut under the bonnet

The mono valves which did the same thing on the older models had a replacement diaphragm (rather than buying the whole unit) as this article from the U.S. Benz mailing list comments...

"Mono-valve: These valves frequently fail to operate because of internal leakage. Generally, the symptoms are no heat on DEF mode or uncontrolled heat or cooling in all modes. Usually the rubber diaphragm inside the valve cracks and leaks. This is easy to repair--you'll need Mercedes-Benz part number 000 835 06 44, Valve Insert, available at most Mercedes-Benz dealers or from Performance Analysis Company, 1345 Oak Ridge Turnpike, PMB 258, Oak Ridge, TN 37830; 865/482-9175.

Perhaps the duo valves have a similar part (or are they simply two mono valves?)

Cheers,

Robert
