Heavy Knocking

My car is benz 190E 2.0 liter.

My car had not start first gear in standard mode.

and so my car have heavy knocking.

my car spand(burn) engine oil somewhat in chamber.

please help me....

Why do you think knocking is related to gear selection?

Define the knocking better - pitch, frequency, related to engine or road speed, where from, how loud, etc.

Where is a "chamber" on a car? The engine? The cylinder? Does it burn it (blue smoke from exhaust?) or leak it? To diagnose oil burning, firstly check its grade - an older engine would allow a too thin oil to leak past seals, etc. To accurately diagnose if its piston rings or valves, or both, the only real way is a cylinder leakdown test. I suppose you could do a compression check if you wanted, but you'd not know accurately.
