One last question John. What fluid changes should I look out for at that milage?

Oil at every service - ATF at least once...brake fluid. It’s a high annual miler so I suspect it’s had business use and very often those are well maintained

7 seats is something I have been looking for, but if the right car came without 7 seats I would go for just the 5. Do you know of anyone selling a car like this?

No the reason I was asking was that these two cars will attract some premoium as they have 7 seats so either if you kept shopping around for standard 5 you’ll save some money or use the fact that you ‘don’t need’ 7 seats therefore Ng for a reduction.
You have to be prepared to walk away though if you don’t get a reduction

Yeah I think so too. Do these cars suffer from DPF problems? Should i worry about clutch, gearbox etc at this age?

Well that e-class 350 I was looking at has been sold . Just rang the guy and he said that someone paid a deposit on it yesterday and they are on there way to pick it up at lunchtime today.

You will need to be quick with these cars, they are in demand

No, they are quite rare but sell fast when they come available

Hope you don’t mind me saying so but you may have to hone your negotiating tactics offering £7k against a screen price of £9k won’t leave the dealer with any margin a reduction of £400 would be a good discount on that car it was competitively priced

No you're right Malcom. Downside is the car I wanted has now been sold, I'm struggling to find an alternative now.

No harm in giving Jay a ring at Mercland they are good at sourcing cars, my main reason for pointing you in that direction is that you have little experience of the marque and buying the wrong car can be a money pit

If the 212 is just out of your price range there are still one or two good low miles run out 211s out there for circa £8k, same V6 OM642 engine for the 280cdi and 320cdi as used in the car you’ve just missed
