Hi

Just thought I'd say hello. I've just joined the club and already the forum has been extremely valuable. I was hoping to get my post count up to the required amount in order to add an avatar, but using the search facility has already shown me all the answers I need.

I'm the proud owner of a CLK55 and a 200TE. The 200 is a bit tired, with rust in places, drinking oil and a few scratches etc. I'd be interested to know if you guys generally treat the rust, or just leave it to add to the character 8). She's done 190000kms, so you gotta give her a break I guess.

One question, when I got it home and lifted the bonnet i found something i don't recognise, any ideas what this part of the car is called?

Looking forward to chatting more with everyone in the future.

Regards

Jim

....apart from the power steering fluid, which is just to the right of the ABS unit in a circular container, with a large plastic 'nut', which can be spun off by hand.

The cat is indestructable - he's already been run over twice. Some would say pretty low learning curve, but he did manage to break the windscreen on the second go, so at least he's learnt to take something with him. ;)

Jim

ps I'll get him, third time lucky.
