Welcome. Nice cars. I think you should try and find a nice 190 Cosworth if you can. May be hard though and not that cheap for a good one. I used to have a 325 E30 Sport and that was a great car too but the Merc has rarity value. Most old beemers have been well and truly abused by their owners.

Ooops, Cosworth.
A while back, the local tuning firm had a two door cossie which I quite fancied.
As I have a few interesting toys, I checked my insurance to see what they wanted to add it to the set.
It was horrendous!!!!!!!

It seems from your "previous" that you haven't tried a diesel yet? Not so fast away from the lights, but very torquey with lots more oomph at cruising speed. When I bought one of the first Peugeot 405 turbodiesels in the UK in 1988, everyone laughed. Then they realised that a BMW 520 @ 70 mph had to chage down 2 gears to keep up with the top gear acceleration of the 405 from that speed. And diesels have moved on a lot since.

A 320 CDI (C, E or S Class) will have more than twice the bhp of a 405 and 3 times the torque. The economy and reliability of diesels is excellent - I can drive from Warwickshire to Edinburgh or Glasgow and back without refuelling.

Even if it just gives you a good laugh, don't knock it until you've tried it!:grin::grin:

:) iv driven many other cars in the past including diesels; of which i was most impressed with the 206 and 406 hdi diesels for the miles u get.. but its that surge and smoothness that i like about petrols :)

for the time being il be driving petrol until the government jacks up the price to the point of insanity
