and we can't work out what is draining it.

Mercedes C180 03 reg

Having to constantly jump start car as battery keeps draining. Took it to get a new battery and was told that something is draining the battery and yet everything was turned of?? We had already disconnected the alarm as was sure that was the cause. Does anyone know what could be causing this? The little ignition light is permanently lit now too.

Also - during latest jump start episode, the small lever snapped off - - is it possible to buy this part and fit it yourself?

Can you buy second hand keys for the C180 or are you forced to pay the full £100 Mercedes charge for one?

Please help - the dealership is ££££££££££££££££

Thanks

Mrs M :-(

Hello Mrs M and welcome, the only way to find the problem is with an Ammeter and remove the fuses one by one until you find the circuit that is faulty.

No other way, unless it is a boot light that is not turning off

Hi Television

Many thanks for that. We are taking it to get checked tomorrow. We will take a look at the boot light though!!

Do you know about the key?

Many thanks for the warm welcome

Hi Mrs. M

2003 - well sounds too early for the alternator went out of order but may be it's a good idea to check it.

for the key, I tried it in Hong Kong but the Parts' Dealer told me that there is no way to get any new key except that order it from the stealership ! I hope it is not the same in U.K.

Hi MrsMonty,

I have recently bought a C220 CDI and the battery was being drained constantly, the fault seemed to be that the electric seats were not switching off, a new seat sender unit seemed to fix the problem.

Hope this helps.
