Hi everyone the micro switch on my sun visor on my Merc W211 E320CDi has gone on the blink. The garage did not want to know and all garages want to do is charge me £145 to replace the sun visor. I have taken the visor apart and found out it is the small blue micro switch that is faulty. As this is my second one to go faulty I am determined to fix it myself. Can anyone advise me where I could get a replacement microswitch. Below is a picture of the microswitch.

Any help would be very much appreciated

If you squirt some non drying switch cleaner down the side of the black button, that could well fix it.

If you could get it to work wth a lever micro switch then CPC and RS also Farnell have the packages in the same outline and size in stock

You could possibly bend the end of a lever version up at the end to do the job the button is doing

Thanks Malcolm - I will have a look at that as a fall back but would ideally like to try and get the correct switch as that would then fit in to the moulding.

Thanks have cleaned it up and now working well. Amazing a new one costs £135 not that I would have bought one. Still love to know where one can get the micro switch from.

nice 201 2.5D 1993 & very nice 129 SL500 1994
That looks like an industry standard V4 size switch with a larger than normal button, most electronics suppliers will sell you one for a couple of quid.

Farnell CPC RS Components or maybe Maplin might be able to supply.

The switch itself is not a problem,, I have them in stock, the problem is the button as 90% are lever operated. None of those companies hold this one in stock.

Sure you can do a web search, but companies like this will not order or ship quantities of less the 500 units

Thanks Malcolm - are you saying you have one I can buy or that you have similar with lever type switching instead of the black button on the top?

Thanks to the forum I now have it working. Would havebeen nice to have found a replacement switch for the future. Have found one at Maplins that most probably could be modified.

I will close this thread down now. Thank you for all those that contributed.
