I have a 1998 C250TD. A while ago the air con packed up, I had it regassed but it packed up again shortly after. When I changed the oil yesterday I noticed this pipe, the one with the spring around it, was badly corroded. I am hoping that it is an air con pipe, and not coolant or oil, as this could explain where my r134 has gone! It runs down the drivers side somewhere up in the radiator down the side of the engine.
Could anyone identify it please?
Thanks
Gary

i would employ the services of an experienced aircon specialist with a 'sniffer' to detect your leak. whoever re-gassed the aircon should have checked for leaks first. to knowingly cause refrigerant to vent to the atmosphere is an offence.
