Help Getting the Hard Top Off?

Hi Guys,
I have just got bought a 1991 500SL and when I try to lift up the Hard top removal button it just flashes red. Am i doing something wrong or is there a fault with it.

Any help with by VERY much appreciated :lol:

If the button flashes it could be that you have a faulty system (assuming that you are not trying to remove the roof while driving). There are some safety interlocks that prevent the system operating unless the car is stationary etc and so it could be a faulty sensor or signal to the system. Pressing the button should first lower the side windows, if this is not happening, then it could be that the system thinks the car is moving.
