I have an 04 E500 which has a 7 speed box. Tested by changing down (gearstick pushed left) at about 70 mph and seeing it display 6 in the gear indicator on the dashboard.

I must admit to having had similar thoughts when Malcolm claimed that asking a girl about her box was car talk but refrained from posting as you lot had derailed the thread far enough already. Looks like he got away with it though. :lol:
