While changing the thermostat, I broke the T peice in the photos below.
There is still some in the metal pipe.

Does anyone know what part and number that is, and can I drive without it?

Thanks

Epoxy glue & tape?

Well maybe, but I wondered about how much pressure is in there? I doubt very much, since its a push fit, but you never know!

Other option I was thinki9ng is to insert a stiff tube of some sort into both ends, but again, a bit nervous.

Thanks so far!

As above , try glue , then wrap in duct tape , then stick a zip tie over it and crank it down

Thanks-I assume I have to spread the glue round the outside to allow the fuel to pass through the hole?

So glue round the outside and then wrap in duct tape?

Thank you!

New part only then?

Looks like it. Even if you found another T piece, MB have a habit of making CDI leak off hoses impossible to remove and replace.

From memory it goes under the fuel rail on the nearside so you will have to lift that to get it under. A bit fiddly. The pipe is joined to each injector.

Yeah, if you are handy. While you are there you can replace the plastic glow plug cable termination that someone has previously broken and discarded. Repair piece is a couple of quid

Not safe to repair, so replace only as Cole says, not cheap for a leak off pipe.

I am collecting one from Merc Coventry in the morning.

Now I am stressed about fitting it! Had a quick look tonight, but I have no idea how to get the old one off. Do I just pull or is there a special method?

There are a couple of different fittings at the injector end if memory serves. The one I can picture in my tiny mind is a collar that you lift up then the end of the pipe fitting will lift off the injector. To refit, push the fitting down onto the injector then slip the collar down to lock. The pipe is a longish affair. It daisy chains onto six injectors, three each side
