Hi,

Can anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial or step by step guide on changing the Autobox fliud on an E200K 2001. I have searched the site and found one by Parrot of Doom on an older model but haven't found one for the W210
Any help would be much appreciated :D

Is Parrot's guide not on the w210?

Even if it's not, the procedure is pretty much the same for any autobox: Drain the box, drain the TC (is possible) take the sump off (more oil) replace the filter (three screws usually) fit an new sump gasket, refit sump and fill with new oil. Easy!

Just as Hibbo says, but do clean it down first, when the sump is off, wash your hands before you handle the filter, do not put your tools on the ground, use a cloth.

The only difference will be that he doesn't have a drain plug on the torque convertor.

Thanks for the help, I'll give it a go. I suppose then that as the torque converter doesn't drain it's just a case of refilling the sump and therefore diluting what's in the TC. Also my car doesn't have a dipstick, from other threads I see I can buy one of these from MB, I assume I just need to prise of the plastic cover fitted at the moment.:)

Get a net curtain wire, copy the markings, and Bob's your uncle. Length of the dipstick is irrelevant, it just hits the bottom of the sump (like an engine oil dipstick)

I'm not sure what measure your using as they do not appear to line up with mine  ;)
