Mercedes 410d RMB motorhome
hi all new to the forum,
i own a 1991 rmb silverstar motorhome which has the mercedes 410d chassis and running gear ,
the famous 5 cylinder om602 engine which i have fitted a super pump from diesel pump uk and has the stt turbo fitted from factory.
ive done far too many modifications to list on this thread but will do a new thread later if people are interested.
any way back to the reason for this thread.
the top end of the rmb is about 55mph not because of lack of power but it runs out of revs .
ive read somewhere that the are two gearbox's fitted high and lower ratio .
can any one please tell me the part number for the gearbox that gives you the better top end .
also i have seen that 16" wheels can be fitted but what are they from?
mine are the old 14" twin wheel.
can any of you please help with ether and where i might find them for sale.
many thanks darren;)

Hello and Welcome,
This subject has been raised on the forum before. The gearbox you need is the overdrive gearbox unit 711-113. I have enclosed a link from this forum.
I would suggest that you keep to the standard 14 inch wheels as this may invalidate your insurance as this is a modification.
This link will may help in locating the part you need.
