Leasing is not cheaper than buying out right unless you can get 0% interest.

The leasing might cost's might be cheaper but the car won't be. Something has to fund the interest on the loan :)

0-60 times aren't that important unless you like the traffic light grand prix. More important to me is overtaking ability - I want to get round the slow geezer in front of me as fast as I can especially on those 50mph A Roads where the car in front is doing 35... Manufacturers optimising gearing to get the best 0-60 times can lead to some dead spots mid range just when you need it...

Agreed, but, with my morning commute, I need the ability to accelerate from 0-70 (plus) uphill in about 200 meters to get onto a fast section of the A303 from a standing start. Of all our cars, I am much happier doing this in the SL55. I don't generally overtake much on A roads, there isn't really the opportunity around here, and I am getting too old for that shenanigans.

I suppose you have to adapt your driving to traffic requirements, most of the time we are just pootling around, but just sometimes you really appreciate some horsepower.

I have a new (September 2018) 2018 CLA 200, on a PCP. C117. It's a 1.5 [low pressure?] turbo with a meagre 156bhp. I think of it as wheezy but coupled with the 7 speed DCT it is around 7.5 seconds to 60. Plenty enough for me.
It is the quickest daily car I have owned. Far outshines my previous 2004 slush box 240CLK on performance.

I was looking for a W205 C Class but was warming to a CLA. After reading the reviews on it their main issue was the rear passenger accommodation. As an owner is that an issue ??:)

I've not ridden in a CLA, but I have been in the equivalent A-Class. I thought the interior was a bit tight, even compared with a Golf. The driver and front passenger were rubbing elbows, even though they weren't big men.

My Daughter has an A Class and I find there is sufficient room in the front, havn't ridden in the back though :)
