squirt in some oil, squirt some more, wiggle the key with pressure back and forth

it'll open

if not, apply some pressure at the same time to the boot lid in the area around the lock while fiddling with the key.

cheers

I had this a month or so ago, it took about 15 minutes of wiggling and then POP the lid was open. Keep trying and try to ignore the wrist ache !

Howdee Guys.................

I came on here with a "how do i open my boot" type of problem and just found this thread.

I have a 1998 C250 diesel in my garage that hasnt been used in 10 or 11 weeks. I tried to start it today but the battery was dead as a dodo.

As the battery is in the boot (so says the manual) I set about getting it started by jumper leads BUT I CANT OPEN THE BOOT !!

I fiddled with it for ages and failed. Should I spray some easing oil into the lock. Any magic to be performed or even advice ?

Thanks a lot

Have you looked under the bonnet for a car battery charging point? Its often on the passenger side just beneath the windscreen, near the vent fan.

Thanks again / Excuse my ignorance

Can I just jump start the engine using these terminals on the bulkhead or is it just for charging..............................

Sussed the boot lock thanks.
You dont charge a car battery insitu with an alternator in circuit.......
I would always remove it anyway...good practice?
