i want to fit a sub and amp into my mercedes c class sport coupe. have a few questions.
1) will my mercedes standard cd player be sufficient to run the sub and amp or will i need a different cd player (i know the cd player needs to have a connector to plug in)
2) if i fit an aftermarket cd player is there any way to keep the useability of the on wheel command buttons for volume etc?

thanks in advance.

Fitting a sub and amp is nothing to do with the CD.. the cd plays through the radio,, so you just run the loudspeaker leads from the radio into the amp and sub woofer, all of your existing controls stay the same

Just making this clearer,,a CD if separate always plugs into the radio.
The output from the radio plugs into the new amp that you want to fit.
Your speakers can be driven by this, or by the radio.

You may just choose the amp to drive a subwoofer,,it depends on what you want to do

Most after market amps for cars have two inputs,,a high level and low level. As you have no low level output, on your existing radio/ head unit, you feed the loudspeaker wires from the radio head unit into the high level input of the new amp, and you join up the car speakers to the output from the new amp plus any extra loudspeakers that you may wish to add
