Hi me again,
Sorry I am a novice. I have removed my radiator on my 1982 500sl, in doing so I had to take off a fair few connectors. I need to know what they were and what lubricants to use and also how to change or top up.

Firstly obviously the coolant I need to drain and replace with a new one, whats the easiest way and what coolant should I use?

Then there was the small rad connected on side which was obviously engine oil, what is the correct oil to use I need to drain totally and replace oil filter, engine doesn't run yet. And the capacity.

Then last there were two pipes on bottom of rad with a redish colour oil is this power steering fluid? How do I top up and also what with?

I have no manual what so ever as you already probably know.

Once again the car is a 107 sl500 1982

Many thanks

Your Mercedes
2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
With the rad off the engine will be near enough empty.

The MB coolant is very good and worth while.

The cooler will drain when you do the oil change, I believe they hold about 7 liters.

And the power steering is ATF I think but will try and check

The PAS reservoir is in top of the pump At the front of the left hand bank.
However, the oil that you lost from the bottom of the radiator (ATF) is from the g/box.Top up when fully up to temp through the g/box dipstick tube.
Use pukka Merc antifreeze in these alloy blocks.
