Help! Part ID crisis for e-class estate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have a 1997(P) E230 estate. The electric windows and door mirrors have stopped working, we are told that the "master control unit" for controlling the electric windows is under the back seat, and that it is definitely this that needs replacing (the unit got wet and this is when the problem started). Try as we may nobody seems to know what this part is called or what the part number is :?. PLEASE, PLEASE CAN ANYBODY HELP?

i only have the data on the e class up to 1995 but i dont think things have changed that much so here goes, the control unit for the windows and sunroof is under the pasanger rear seat "RHD"remove it and dry it with a hair drier that should sort that out, next check the fuses under bonnet location F1 main to accessories, F2 windows and sunroof, F17 sunroof, F19 sun roof windows and interior lights, F18 door mirrors, F23/4 front and rear windows, they might have changed the position of the fuses so i would check them all, then there is a diode for the windows and its No 9 the relays are laid out in banks 1st bank has 5 relays 2nd has 3 last has 2 its the small second last one and No 1 is the windows relay bank 1 opposite No 9 same hight ( No 1 and 9 being on the top row )
