Help please !!! Boot Lock 230ce 1990

Hi there. I am new to this forum so not sure if I have posted the the correct section !!! I have a 1990/1 M/B 230CE. The boot lid will not open !!!!. I thought maybe the central locking could be at fault but even using the key still does not open it. When I use the key I can feel the lock working and when I press the button in I can here it its usual click noise. The thing is it all feels normall as before but just wont open. Any ideas ????? it might sound stupid but i had same thing whith the tailgate on my merc estate... there was nothing wrong with it... the tailgate had somehow stuck itself to the boot rubber seal.. a good pull & it came free ! not saying yours is the same though

Thank Shaun. I did think of that one but the boot is opened 2 or 3 times a day. Again thanks. Rob.
