Had this car a couple of weeks now and with the advice from this forum i had other problems solved.
Car is a w208 clk 200 kompressor 2002 model

However yesterday evening and on another three occasions during the night my alarm has gone off for no reason. ( my neighbours are really enamored with me)
Operating the key fob as per uusual turned it off and on again in the normal manner.
Anyone help please, as it is Sunday and i cant find an auto electrician open
Thanks..............Mike.

Hiya Malcolm, Thanks for your reply............ as the noise was was annoying neighbours i took it to asda car park at 3am this morning and attempted to remove the wheel liner on the passenger side, and was partly succesful, but could not see the siren in the semi darkness, so i put it all back again and came home.
My medical condition wont allow me to do anything strenuous, (post op lung cancer) and coupled with the wet ground i gave up on that occasion, but will have another go today.
Cheers..........Mike

Sadly Mike I cant be exact, most are on the nearside, and I have no way of telling,,the best way to be sure is to let the thing go off and listen to see what side it is on, but knowing sods law you will not get it to go off

Can someone tell me please what i would expect to pay to "have it read ", as this seems to be a regular requirement to diagnose problems.
Once again............Thank you..............Mike

We have had about 30 post in the last few months on these sirens, it has always been the siren at fault, so a read out should not be required

Thanks............Mike

Check if any of your local MB dealers have launched "Mercedes To You"?

I know of a couple of dealers up here who have, they will come to your home or work in an A Class, connect your car to STAR, give the car a safety check & quote you for any work required without obligation, FREE of charge.

Found the siren as described, ( bit awkward to get to) and pulled the wires off.
Alarm flashing lights appear to be still working correctly, (minus the siren)and my neighbourhood was able to sleep uninterrupted last night with neither the siren nor the flashing lights going off.
I can assume from this result that it is indeed the siren that is at fault as was suggested in earlier posts.
Need to replace siren now.....any ideas where to get part or where to have done??????.
Thanks.............Mike

But thats if it is that? could be the motion sensor or a door switch? has been known but most likely siren. its a £70 gamble if you cant send it back.
