help please: decode 1968 250SL vin #

thankyou for helping me decode this vin #. I particularly want to know the size engine that came in the car.

This is possibly too old to come up, I tried with WDB but nothing. The 230 and 280 were the most popular with very few 250's made I believe

Well just tried another and it confirms that the car was always a 250 and it has the M129.982 engine
