Good evening all . So I decided to wash the car today . Naturally I lifted the front wipers away from the windscreen , put them back down once I had finished , turned the car on to move her slightly , unintentionally/unknowingly I had left the auto wipers on , the wipers had got stuck half way up the windscreen , used the stalk to get them back down but nothing on any setting and also front washers now don't work (rears fine) . Checked out fuse 10 and 13 as per fuse location sheet but both seem intact . Everything else on the stalk works fine ie rear wipers, main beam , indicators.

How about wash function?
Tried exit car and activate alarm/central locking?
Try battery disconnect to reset everything?

Windscreen Wash function doesn't work on front wipers but headlight washers work .
Yes , tried locking/unlocking car .
Not tried battery yet , would that possibly work ?
Many thanks

Unlikely but always worth a try with complicated modules.

Yep , all doors and bonnet closed .
Would this stop the wipers from working if they were not closed ?

Yes it would, or if the switches in the bonnet latch are faulty, but unlikely in your case.

Panic over . It was................ a fuse .
Strange seeing it looked 100% intact , thought I'd best try it anyway and voila . Although , I didn't have a 7.5amp fuse so have chucked in a 10amp , this would be fine wouldn't it !?

I'd change it back to a 7.5 but short term it will be OK.

I would start looking for why the fuse blew though. May be a sign of imminent motor failure or the mechanics of the system starting to bind up?

I've had a motor fail on me before on a previous car but showed signs leading up to it going completely , there has been no problems at all leading up to this incident . wouldn't I notice something similar ?

If the motor is going then it could be a sign of a lack of lubrication on the mechanism.
I’m a big fan of lube...
