Hi, People,

This demon came to me from another garage vehicle will not crank all lights come on dash.

Garage replaced starter motor - still no start

in the battery tray is a black plug with 2 wires if you put a live to the violet and white wire, vehicle will start but once turned off can not be restarted unless same procedure is carried out. if you leave the ignition off for 5mins and turn it back on, there is a clicking noise from behind the dash for approx 10 secs

This vehicle is a manual and i can not find a starter motor relay, I dont think it has one. even though I can not seem to find the correct wiring diagram.

I have checked the ignition switch and removed the switch that goes into the back of the ignition switch checked all seems ok.

all the signals seem to be fine but no live to this violet wire with white tracer

I know one end goes to the starter motor.

Does any one know where the other end is supposed to go/come from, I know the wire is the signal for the solenoid to turn the starter, the das enable signal is being recieved, and no start error on dash. I have tried to physically trace the other end of this wire but it goes up under the centre console and behind the dash and disappears ????? any contributions would be much appreciated

the starter feed comes from the engine control module depending on what year the car is will depend if it has a starter relay if you post the chassis number i could have a look for you.

as mercs said, some early one have starter relays and later comes from ecu, if early you can wire in a relay of the ign switch stright to the starter trigger,

Gentlemen thanks very much for your replies both of you were right I was running out of time and didnt get your replies in time so I called the man BLACKc55 @ prestige car service 02392570123. who was extremely helpful. He basically told me the same thing and what to do to fix it. very very nice man.

nightmare job from begining to end I managed to lose vehicle key(still hasnt turned up). dont know why I couldnt find correct wiring diagram. Basically made a meal out of this 1 But thanks very much for help. any contributions to the cost of new key and two new locks to the babason distress fund would be appreciated.

peace and love
