My Stepdad's just got a 2004 CLK 320 (Bloomin' lovely!!)

Going through the Bluetooth menu, we've managed to pair his phone to the system (and my N95 in case his phone was struggling) and the system says the phone is paired, but the word 'connected' changes to 'not connected' after a few seconds and calls to the phone do not get routed to the car no matter what we try. (Even while still showing 'connected').

The integrated nav system has phone buttons, but all of them say 'insert phone' when pressed. So I'm guessing a particular phone-specific cradle has to be purchased to fit his particular phone, and plugged in to the funny plug in the arm rest compartment?

Surely when a phone is paired, the phone controls on the car should control the bluetooth phone, including its phonebook etc yes? Surely the bluetooth setup isn't just for bt audio devices??!?!??

Had a similar problem and then found you either needed to order a phone specific bluetooth cradle that plugs in to that funny plug you mentioned or buy a ViseeO MB-2 that plugs into your funny plug and then you can pair any blue tooth enabled phone to the Command system. Can support upto 3 phones at once.

Cheers for your help. I'm kinda baffled that the system is all set up for bluetooth yet it won't actually do anythign once you've paired it. What are you supposed to use the bluetooth for then? Bluetooth audio device like sending music from your phone to your stereo????

Will the ViseeO MB-2 definitely work with an 04 plate CLK? Plugs right in instead of the phone cradle?

So what is the in-built bluetooth for then?

Anyone? Would like to know whether it's worth bidding on one of these?
