Went to work very early this morning, got back early 8ish, thought wash car, ruination of whole day!, light scratch down NS front wing, mortified!, only place its been in last 3 weeks is MB dealership. UGH. its very light approx 100mm long, but shows through the black, tried waxing and polishing, better but still there, any advice would be very appreciated to make it disappear, sleepless night on way!

If you wet your finger and dab the scratch does it go? If you can't feel it with your nail then a detailer with a PC (Porter Cable polisher) will be able to get it out using a combination of polishes and waxes.

Hope it comes out!! My ML goes into paintshop next week. Some little b*gger dragged a knife or similar down the side of every car in our street last weekend. Probably 25 or so cars damaged. Police say nothing they can do - typical!! Lucky I didn't catch them or I would be in more trouble than them!!

If I were you, I'd go onto detailingworld.co.uk and find yourself a local pro detailer. It may cost you 250 quid but your car will look better than new and the scratch will come out. My M5 was done last year and all the swirls in the paint disappeared leaving the paint with that lovely 'wet' look.

Big problem here is that if the scratch is down to the base coat you cant touch it up as touch up top coats are clear cellulose one pack and the original finish was a two pack, sadly they are not the same color, the cellulose finish will always look darker, not to bad on a black car,but really shows up on a silver one.
