help urgently needed lol.....brake caliper!!!

rite cut a long story short.....

1x Merc C220 Diesel Esprit...1998 R reg

1x NSR brake caliper...SEIZED

1x Vice
1x Crowbar

2x snaps....on caliper carriers in vice with aid of crowbar!! :mad:

now i need a caliper with i think 35mm piston if thats right lol

Anyone got one thats not seized?

There are loads of these cars being broken up,,put a notice up in the for sale and wanted section

Hi,
Have you tried ECP? As they can normally supply rear brake calipers, IIRC approx. £70-80 brand new.

yeah tried them....but looking for a 2nd hand one really....just selling the car on again once it's mot'd

aye tried them & not one breaking at all.......i did send a couple of messages to folk who appear to break them but no reply as such since i put the post up here.
never had any luck on here either which is bizzare

If the piston is siezed i have fitted a grease gun to inlet pipe and pump it out it has worked for me several times,then a good clean and away you go

brilliant idea Steve. ive never seen it done that way! ive used an airline before to blow them out! not recommended for diy though!

It's far better to fit a new or reconditioned caliper. Once seized, there's a very good chance the piston is ruined.

I've just a had a quick trawl through ebay...
Yes, loads of front calipers knocking around but very few rear.

Of those listed, many seem to refer to the rear calipers as same for your C class as for E class 200-300 W124 bodies, and some SL's.
